Leon Landwehr

Research focus

Since April 2025, Leon Landwehr has been working as a research associate in the Department of Building Physics and Technical Interior Design under the supervision of Prof. Dr.-Ing. Susanne Schwickert. As part of an accompanying scientific study on the Modular Reusable Building project, he investigates key questions related to sustainable and circular construction. His work focuses on the practice-oriented analysis and evaluation of modular, demountable, and reusable building concepts.

Professional Experience

During his studies, Leon Landwehr gained practical experience working as a student assistant in various architecture firms. After completing his degree, he worked on a freelance basis in collaboration with Prof. M. Lux, focusing on healthy living environments, ecological design, and architecturally ambitious housing concepts. Alongside his research activities, Leon Landwehr is employed as a design architect at the Bielefeld-based firm crayen bergedieck klasing architekten BDA.

Academic Education

Leon Landwehr completed his Bachelor's degree in Architecture at the Technische Hochschule Ostwestfalen-Lippe, including a semester abroad at the Copenhagen School of Design and Technology. He graduated in 2020 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) and received the BDA OWL Award for his bachelor thesis.

He went on to complete the Master's program Master of Integrated Architectural Design at TH OWL, earning the degree Master of Science (M.Sc.) in 2023.
