High Efficient Flyback Converter with SiC-MOSFET (peer reviewed!)

This paper introduces a compact and cost-efficient AC/DC-converter with 200W nominal power to generate 48VDC from the three phase 400V line-voltage. The converter essentially consists of a line-side uncontrolled rectifier and a downstream flyback converter. The paper shows how a good efficiency can be achieved using a silicon carbide MOSFET in combination with a good transformer design and active rectification. After a short description of the circuit, the operation of the converter will be explained with the help of measured current and voltage curves.
