Energy efficiency in intralogistics - Electrical drive technology, intelligent and effective

Energy consumption of electrical drive systems to be used in the intralogistics range had not been in the focus of engineering, since additional investments compared with energy savings of available units will not amortize in theory. The aim of this research project “Intelligent Drive and Control Technology for Energy-Efficient Intralogistics” is to find a solution for each drive-technological application used in an intralogistics system, e.g. a warehouse. In the future, this solution should be selected from a variety of technical solutions. It should be proved in advance, that this solution has the lowest energy consumption at fixed costs. To prove this, minimum 15 % electrical energy should be saved with the results of the innovation project in a reference logistics system under consideration that the life cycle costs remains constant compared with the initial situation.
