New publication presents concept for a DC-based test facility!

No AALE takes place without the classic automation technology topics such as control engineering, model building and robotics. The 17th AALE conference took place in Leipzig from 04.-06.03.2020. Slavi Warkentin has presented a new paper on "Modular test facility for an industrial DC voltage network with controlled electrical drives".

Industry 4.0 has been one of the most important topics at the AALE conferences (automation and human-technology interaction) for around nine years. Various contributions deal with technical quantities and solutions and their handling with / in the production system. In the article "Modular test facility for an industrial DC voltage network with controlled electrical drives" the concept of a test facility for industrial direct voltage networks is presented. In detail, Slavi Warkentin, Dr. Johann Austermann and Prof. Holger Borcherding show how DC networks enable a very simple bidirectional energy exchange between the connected devices. The peculiarity of the concept lies in the realistic simulation of the mechanical loads on the drives of a production machine. For more information on the concept, read the entire abstract!
