Virtual Fluid Experience

Duration
-

As a  learning app, Virtual Fluid Experience, is created to test subject on fluid mechanics. It should enable students to simulate different learning content of fluid dynamics in a virtual learning environment and thus to carry out virtual experiments on the topic. As a result, the course is specifically expanded to include active, action-oriented elements that are available to the students without restriction. The aim is to improve the learning outcomes in the area of basic courses (in the field of fluid mechanics) of the bachelor's degree (i.e. to significantly reduce the failure rate) with special regard to the heterogeneity of the students. The basis for this is provided by simulation programs, which are adapted by defining and setting up a number of specific examples beforehand, whereby the parameter variation (input options) is reduced by the student to a few predefined sizes. This approach should also be transferable to other subjects (especially basic MINT subjects) and courses of study (especially Bachelor at universities of applied sciences).
