Rainer Rasche
Professor of Mechatronics
Reserach focus
At the Technical University of Ostwestfalen-Lippe (TH OWL), Professor Rainer Rasche conducts research in the following areas:
- Design and test of mechatronic systems
- Sustainable recycling of electronic components
Professional career
After completing his doctorate at the University of Paderborn, Rasche joined dSPACE. Here he took on responsibility in the field of test automation using hardware-in-the-loop simulations for quality assurance of mechatronic systems in the automotive and aviation industries. From 2012 to 2018 he led a cross-company working group for the standardization of software interfaces (XIL) for access to test systems as part of the ASAM e. V. (Association for Standardization of Automation and Measuring Systems).
In mid-2019 he was appointed to the professorship of mechatronics in the department of electrical engineering and technical informatics at TH OWL and has been working in Lemgo ever since.
Academic education
Rasche studied mechanical engineering at the University of Paderborn, the Western Michigan University, USA and the Ecole Nationale Supérieure d´Arts et Métiers, Paris. During his studies he dealt with methods and software development for the design of mechatronic systems. In his doctorate, he designed decentralized strategies for autonomous vehicles to cross an intersection with regard to different quality criteria.
Activities in associations and committees:
Head of the Commission for Quality Improvement in Teaching and Studies in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Technical Computer Science.
