Climate protection, energy and construction in the Industry 4.0 environment

An urgent challenge for industrialized societies is a robust energy supply from decentralized, renewable resources. The associated volatile energy supply must be linked to the demand for energy into a flexible, intelligent system that can at the same time keep supply security and costs under control. For this purpose, energy-relevant components must become flexible on the consumer side in order to realize temporal load-shifting potentials. This concerns the energy consumption of residential, household and functional buildings as well as producing industries with their machinery and procedures, trades, services and crafts.

In an "OWL Decentralized Energy 4.0 Laboratory", science, companies and civil society are developing today's solutions, which still appear to be more abstract in the overall context. The targeted establishment of an interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary competence network is the subject of this application.
