"MONOCABs haben das Potential, die schienengebundene Mobilität zu ergänzen, indem stillgelegte oder ineffiziente, eingleisige Bahnstrecken mit einem attraktiven Service-on-Demand-System ausgestattet werden, das insbesondere die vernetzte Mobilität im ländlichen Raum unterstützt. 
Im EFRE-Projekt MONOCAB OWL konnte die technische Machbarkeit für das Fahren und Stabilisieren von Einschienenfahrzeugen gezeigt werden. Dennoch gibt es einige offene Fragestellungen, die zur Klärung einer betrieblichen und operationellen Machbarkeit adressiert werden müssen, bevor eine Umsetzung der MONOCABs als Mobilitätskonzepte denkbar ist."
